Model 90XP

Rugged and compact hand-fed chipper.

Key Features
The Model 90XP is a 9″ capacity disc-style chipper and has a distinguished career serving tree care professionals, rental companies and municipalities needing a productive, cost-effective, light-weight chipper. Weighing approximately 4,600 pounds with a gas engine this unit is the perfect solution for those needing a compact and easy to tow machine with the capability to chip material up to 9″ in diameter.

Rugged & Compact
This compact chipper is built as rugged as our 12” capacity Model 200XP. These units are tough enough to withstand a steady diet of material up to their 9” capacity.

Fuel Efficient
The chipping angle and precise knife angle, along with the synchronized feed, produces uniform chips, reduce fuel consumption and vibration while reducing the amount of energy required to convert trees and brush into chips.

Dual Feed Wheel System

Dual Wheel Feed System
Dual Wheel Feed System

The Model 90XP features (2) 7-1/2” diameter feed wheels that crush and compress material and have the power to pull long material into the chipper. A dual feed wheel system drastically increases pulling and compressing power. This feed system delivers 6,329 lbs in/lbs of torque and 1,688 lbs. of pulling power to each fed wheel. Operators will spend less time trimming and repositioning material, leading to greater productivity.

Heavy-Duty Chipper
The heart of a hand-fed chipper is the chipper disc and housing. The Bandit 9” models are equipped with:
• 30” diameter x 1-½” thick disc
• 2 solid pockets
• 4” chipper shaft at hub
• (2) 2-7/16 flange mounted bearings

Power Options
The engine or power unit provides all of the power needed to run the chipper and the hydraulic functions of the chipper. Because Bandit offers such a wide variety of engine options from most of the major engine manufacturers, the customer can select the power unit that best suits his specific needs from a performance and service standpoint.

24.5 Gallon Steel Fuel Tank

This high capacity fuel tank should provide more than a day’s fuel supply for most applications. The tank is easy to drain should contaminants enter the tank. Optional Rochester float-type gauges make fuel level easy to monitor.

Durable Chipper Disc
The chipper disc, housing and shaft are so rugged that very rarely do they need to be replaced.

Torflex EZ-Lube Axles
The Model 90XP comes standard with a Torflex 6,000 lb axle with 225/75R 15″ tires.

Wide Chipper Openings
The chipper throat opening into the 9” capacity Model 90XP is 9-½” high by 17” wide with a 29” high by 45” wide infeed hopper opening. A wide opening allows multiple pieces to be fed and provides a bigger opening for limby material, increasing production and reducing the amount of trimming required to process material. Operators are more productive and less fatigued.

Feed System
The Model 90XP feed wheels are 16 3/8” wide by 7-½” diameter. The powerful dual wheel feed system makes it easy to chip large diameter material and multiple stems. Because the wheels are horizontal, gravity helps spread out the material, maximizing the effective surface area of the feed wheels and infeed opening into the chippers. The Model 90XP has (2) 15.9 CID hydraulic motors.

Angle Feed

45º Feed
45º Feed

The advantage of the 45º-angle feed is best compared to whittling, where it is much easier to cut with the grain rather than going against or across the grain. Bandit’s Model 90XP disc-style chippers are set at an approximate 45° angle to the flow of material into the chipper. That, in conjunction with the chipping angle assists the feed system by pulling material into the chipper. Chipping at an angle requires less energy and cuts easier, which means the machine will chip with less vibration, consume less energy and fuel and will chip large diameter material with lower horsepower.
