Model 2900 Track
Model 2900 Track

The Model 2900 Track is an extremely versatile machine and is designed mainly for high production grinding applications, including lot clearing and large stump removal jobs. The 2900 Track is a great all-around stump grinder, featuring heavy-duty steel construction and a Caterpillar 120 diesel or PSI 165 horsepower gas engine.

Key Features
• Low-maintenance hydrostatic drive
• Radio remote control with tether back-up
• Bandit wheel with greenteeth or New Revolution wheel with hex teeth
• 24-½” diameter cutter wheel
• Available with grading blade and swing-out curtain assembly

Turf Friendly
The track drives are independent from each other, allowing for high maneuverability with a zero-turning radius. The turf-friendly rubber track undercarriage provides great flotation, allowing it to travel over lawns and golf courses without leaving much of a foot print. The rubber tracks will retract to 35” allowing the 2900 Track to fit through a standard 36” backyard gate, and expand out to 53” for added stability. The undercarriage utilizes four cylinders, allowing the tracks to stay parallel as they retract and expand, minimizing wear and increasing longevity.

More than Adequate Fuel and Hydraulic Tanks
The Model 2900 Track boasts a large 17 gallon steel fuel tank and 29-½ gallon hydraulic tank. The large fuel tank provides for more than a day’s worth of fuel, while the hydraulic tank provides plenty of hydraulic fluid optimal performance and cooling.

Durable Drive System
The 2900 Track features a hydrostatic cutter wheel drive system. This system dramatically reduces the maintenance costs typically associated with a grinder of this size. This hydrostatic system is extremely reliable and eliminates all belts and bearings. The cutter wheel is simply engaged by hitting a switch on the remote control or control panel. The hydrostatic motor then drives the direct drive hydraulic motor. A heavy-duty 78cc hydraulic pump provides approximately 25 percent more torque to the cutter wheel, compared to competitive grinders. The 2900 Track’s superior drive system make the 2900 Track extremely productive and reliable, providing years of service with minimal maintenance costs.

Cutter Dimensions
Impressive grinding dimensions add to the overall productivity of the 2900 Track, allowing it to tackle stumps of all species and sizes. Cutting dimensions include a cutter swing of 75”, a cutting depth of 24”, and a cutting height of 31-½”, reducing the number of times the unit will need re-positioned.

Cutter Wheel Adjustments
A standard variable speed cutter wheel adds to the production and versatility of this unit. The swing speed of the cutter wheel is adjustable and allows the operator to control the speed at which the teeth advance into the cut. A slower swing speed is usually desired on larger-diameter or hard stumps, while a faster speed is preferred when grinding smaller diameter or softer stumps. By adjusting the swing speed, the operator can maximize grinder performance for each grinding situation. Another unique feature is the cutter wheel depth control button. This feature allows the operator to set how far the cutter wheel will drop each time the cutter wheel down switch is hit. The depth can be set based on the species or size of the stump being ground maximizing productivity.

Options
The 2900 Track can be ordered with a 35” or 53” wide grading blade simplifying the clean up process after grinding. Side mounted swing-out fender-mounted chip guards are also available and help farther enhance chip containment.

Hydraulic Relief System
The Model 2900 Track features a relief system that will relieve the hydraulic pressure in the event that the cutter wheel comes to a complete stop while grinding. This system takes the pressure off of the hydraulic pump and components, eliminating the chances for a failure.

Wireless Radio Remotes
A user-friendly radio remote control with tether back-up is available and allows the operator to manipulate all of the drive and grinding functions of the machine by simply pushing switches. The remote also allows the operator to maintain better visibility while grinding, and being positioned away from flying debris, reducing operator fatigue and increasing efficiency. A wide variety of controls are included on these remotes including: cutter wheel engagement/disengagement, cutter wheel swing and height functions, drive functions, including expanding/retracting the tracks and emergency engine shut down switch.
